Terms & Conditions – Bolt Bikes Pty Ltd

By accessing or purchasing from boltbikes.com.au, you agree to the following terms:


1. General

Bolt Bikes Pty Ltd (“Bolt Bikes”, “we”, “us”) sells electric bikes and related products within Australia. All purchases are subject to these Terms and Australian Consumer Law.


2. Orders & Payment

  • All prices are listed in AUD

  • Payment must be completed before dispatch

  • We reserve the right to cancel or refuse any order


3. Shipping & Delivery

  • Orders are dispatched from Victoria, Australia

  • Delivery timeframes are estimates only

  • We are not liable for delays caused by couriers or external factors

  • Due to transport regulations, batteries may be shipped separately


4. Product Handling & Assembly (IMPORTANT)

Our bikes are shipped approximately 90% pre-assembled and packaged with protective materials.

Customers must take care when unboxing and assembling products.

Damage caused during:

  • Unboxing (including use of sharp tools)

  • Handling

  • Assembly

is not considered a product fault and is not covered under warranty or return.


5. Returns & Refunds

Returns are subject to our Returns Policy.

We do not accept returns for:

  • Change of mind after assembly or use

  • Damage caused during unboxing, handling, or assembly

Approved returns:

  • Must be unused and in original packaging

  • Must be requested within 7 days of delivery

  • Are subject to return shipping costs and a restocking fee of up to 15%


6. Warranty & Service Information

Warranty Coverage

We stand behind our products and offer a nationwide warranty.

What is Covered:

  • Manufacturing faults, defects, or failures

  • Original purchaser with valid proof of purchase

What is Not Covered:

  • Misuse (including impacts, collisions, or improper riding)

  • Damage from exposure to external elements (rust, stains, weathering)

  • Damage caused during unboxing, handling, or assembly

  • Incorrect installation or fitment

  • Repairs carried out by unauthorised persons

  • Normal wear and tear (including tyres, tubes, brake pads, discs, bearings, seats, and consumables)

  • Lack of maintenance or servicing

  • Modifications or alterations not supplied by Bolt Bikes

Freight or transport damage must be reported in accordance with our Shipping & Returns Policy.


Warranty Periods

  • Grom Electric Bikes:

    • 12 months (from January 1st, 2025)

  • Batteries:

    • 6 months

  • Parts & Accessories:

    • 3 months

Items such as apparel, tyres, tubes, brake pads, and other consumables are not covered under warranty.


Warranty Claims Process

To initiate a claim:

  • Contact our support team with photos/videos of the issue

  • Provide proof of purchase

  • Allow our team to assess the issue before any return is approved

We may resolve claims by:

  • Supplying replacement parts

  • Providing repair guidance

  • Repairing or replacing the product

  • Providing a refund where required under Australian Consumer Law

Bolt Bikes reserves the right to determine the most appropriate resolution.


Void of Warranty

Warranty is void if:

  • The product has been modified or altered

  • Non-original parts have been installed

  • The product has been misused or improperly handled

Bolt Bikes is not responsible for issues arising from modifications or alterations.


7. Liability

Use of our products is at your own risk.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bolt Bikes Pty Ltd is not liable for:

  • Injury, loss, or damage resulting from improper use

  • Indirect or consequential loss


8. Chargebacks & Fraud

We actively dispute all fraudulent transactions and chargebacks using delivery confirmation, customer communication, and supporting evidence.


9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia.
